About

Welcome! My name is Takuma Kamada (written as 鎌田拓馬 in Japanese). I am a tenure-track associate professor of Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University in Japan.

My research seeks to understand the causes and consequences of crime and enforcement. In particular, I study (i) how both criminal and non-criminal justice policies affect crime and (ii) how drug epidemics shape cities and neighborhoods, with a particular emphasis on illegal markets in different ethno-racial contexts.
