About
Welcome! My name is Takuma Kamada (written as 鎌田拓馬 in Japanese). I am an associate professor at University of Osaka (formerly, Osaka University), Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) in Japan.
My research seeks to understand the causes and consequences of crime and its enforcement. In particular, I study (i) how both criminal and non-criminal justice policies affect crime and (ii) how drug epidemics shape cities and neighborhoods, with a particular emphasis on illegal markets in different ethno-racial contexts.
